Hi, I am not working on any thing at this time.  But I have been doing rugs and a blanket.  I have counterbalance floor loom that I have updated into a balance loom by adding the shed regulator.  I have got a blanket planned to do as soon as my dyer friend can dye the yarn for me.  She keeps saying she is going to send the dye home with me so I can learn to do it myself.  But I already have several other hobbies she has got me into (spinning and knitting).  I also have to get a 10" Dent for my next blanket.  So that means a trip to Lawrence, Kansas to the Yarn Barn.  I have only been weaving for about six months but I really enjoy it.

 Hi everyone,

I'm in Westchester County with too many looms and not enough time to enjoy them. Hopefully this community will inspire me.

Hello,

My name is Franco Rios from Sacramento, Calif.

I started weaving a couple of years ago. I also do some spinning. I have an Erica Rigid heddle loom and a couple of homemade frame looms.

I have a blog called Franco's Fiber Adventure

I think Liz Gipson's new book, Weaving Made Easy, has some in it.  The library is holding the book for me and I hope I can get there today to pick it up.  I'll let you know as soon as I get to browse through it.  This is the best place for a question like that, I know I saw something online, maybe on Schacht's website.  I would give that a try.  It's http://www.schachtspindle.com/newsletter/newsletter.php there are lots of patterns and ideas in the past newsletters.  Betty Davenport's 2nd book talks about how to use the 2nd shuttle.  I would just warp it up and experiment, but I like to fly by the seat of my pants a lot.

I think it will be a race to see who finishes last.  Is that an oxymoron?  I haven't started my project yet, and I won't be able to start until I return from my visit with my son around the 1st of July.

I would love to do the log cabin pattern and I am thinking about making a pillow for the sofa.  I have this cool solid red wool fiber and 2 skeins of some fiber that is varigated red/orange/browns - fall colors.  I'm afraid it won't make the log cabin pattern, but maybe blocks of some sort.   I think I see it in my mind and then it's gone and I'm not sure how it will turn out.  Either way, it uses up some of my ever growing stash.

OK, Iowa weavers!  I know that you are all out there and that everyone is desperately trying to get ready for Midwest Weavers Conference in Grinell.  I promise to write something more interesting that this little note when we get done with Midwest Weavers.

I'm not a new weaver but tapestry is something I've only recently started getting into.  I'd love to hear about the looms and yarns you use.

I'm finding too that I'm not sure whether my shed is open on my beat. It all just comes together when I get into the flow of things.

Laura, I love the videos--especially the loom music!
