Welcome to the new and improved Weaving Calculator, by Weavolution!

The weaving calculator is back! Please take advantage of this helpful tool to calculate your warp and weft yardage, as well as your project costs. Detailed help is available HERE; brief instructions are also listed at the bottom of this page.

The current weaving calculator, supports the US measurement and currency systems only, We will be exploring ideas to make this tool functional for more people on our International website. Formulas for this weaving calculator are based on a version by Margaret Coe and Ruth Blau. The original is available here. Technical code methodology was inspired by Haley Studio. Thanks to both for their contribution.

We hope you find the Weavolution Calculator helpful. If so, please consider making a donation through Paypal (button below), or for other information about how to make a donation, refer to our Donations page.

Brief Instructions

The calculator is divided into three sections - Warp calculation, Weft Calculation, and Material costs. It is required to use these three sections in order, but it is not required to complete all three sections. For example, It is possible to use only the Warp calculation, or the Warp and the Weft calculations, but is not possible to use only the Weft calculations.

After completing each section, be sure to select the appropriate calculate button for the section to actually perform the calculations. Results will be shown in the text area underneath the button. If after completing a section(s), you would like to change some values, make sure you have selected the appropriate calculate button(s) - in order.

At all times, when using the calculator, make sure that all fields in a section have entered data.

At all times, if any data is changed after the calculate button has been pressed, make sure that the button has been pressed again to recalculate using the new data.

At all times, make sure that when the calculate buttons are pressed that they are pressed in order - otherwise, any changed data may not flow into the subsequent sections.
