OK, so, it's Sunday and the folks at AVL are taking a well-deserved rest after delivering my 24/24 WDL ... but the gosh darn CompuDobby III keeps lifting harness 24 even if the lift plan doesn't tell it to.  (I'm using WeavePoint software from AVL, on an older PC, so it actually has a serial port -- yay for old tech). Any weekenders with suggestions?  I've tried rotating the little head inside the black box 180 degrees, and all the harnesses' cables look the same as #24's, so I'm at a loss ... the troubleshooting page mentions a "Berkley snap", but I've no idea which part that might be, and google didn't help identify it (unless I want to go fishing...apparently it's a common part for fishermen to purchase).

I have emailed the AVL folks, so I expect they'll get back to me early in the week, but still, ya'know, you just want these things to work when you have time to play with them ;-) well, at least I didn't put the warping wheel together yet, so I have some distractions to work with there.

Congratulations on your new WDL. The issue might be caused by not fully depressing the left treddle (I had this issue when I first got my WDL and fully depressing the left treddle corrected it).

Good luck.

When you talk to Lucinda also talk to her about the box shifting slightly.  It is an easy fix once you identify it.  The solenoid box can shift from left to right and might have shifted over to the left enough to mess with shaft 24.  You look down to see how the little heads are centering on the cables.  It is a very subtle shift that can torment you greatly.  Lucinda can walk you thru it.

good luck, once I got my box all happy shifting and twisting it has been working nicely....Deb

Thanks for the suggestion -- the writeup was really clear on the importance of that left treadle, so I checked its action with the box off, and it looks like I'm getting it completely depressed (I mean that in a positive way, grin!).  One more thing I can check off on the list of things tried :)

oooh, I could totally see this being the issue.  AVL's planning to call me today to walk me through fixing it ... their person (Lucinda?) was out yesterday, but Bob & Pam both sent me "hang in there" emails, so I'm all warm and comfy during my wait.

occasionally, one of the cables will get stuck BEHIND the solenoid head.  You can grab a flashlight and take a look inside and see it pretty easily, if that's the problem.

I assume you've already been "walked through" so this is just and FYI posting.
