I'm not in Southern Oregon, exactly, but still in Jefferson Territory. Straight east of Mt Shasta in CA in Trinity National Forest. Coffee Creek to be specific, if anyone knows where that is. I do my shopping in Ashland & Medford and visit a sister living near there.

I mostly weave on small frame looms, but have a 42" Cambridge Rug loom which I've managed to get warped a couple times to weave two rugs and some sample stuff. I'd like to weave another rug, I have the rags cut up, but can't seem to work up the gumption to crawl down under there to string the thing up again & I'm not sure I know how. We had to move it, which meant taking everything apart. :-( . I'm not very flexible.

I have never weaved before but bought a tapestry loom yesterday at the Wool Festival in Estes Park Colorado.  The loom came with a starter package and manual but am looking for shops to take an actual class at.  I'm excited to start.

I'm still trying to work my way around posting on here, so please forgive any little whoopsies!

I'm working on a series of small cell phone or MP3 player purses woven out of my own handspun sari silks. I can spin the yarn softer ( and easier to use, lol) and also control the colour runs this way to avoid a "pizza" look. I also like my yarns textured and organic, and hopefully this transfers itself to the fabric so that it begs to be touched.

I am also in the process of warping up a couple of RH looms, and have another very basic loom set up with a cotton warp to make a larger bag using banana silks and cotton. I want to do the bag and strap all in one so its a circular warp, which should keep things interesting as I haven't quite decided how that will work yet. It should keep me busy for a while! <grin>

Hello fellow CM weavers!

I'm another Glimakra person -- right now I have two, a 100cm 8-S, 8-T Ideal and a 120cm 8-S, 10T Standard.  Both are horizontal CMs.

Why do I have two?  Well, when my husband and I first moved up here to the Seattle area, we lived in smaller digs and we didn't have room to set up my Standard.  So I bought the Ideal.  But when we moved into the house where we live now (almost 5 years ago now, but we just purchased it in April, whoo-hoo!) we had the space for the Standard to be set up, and so I've been weaving on that since then.

Can I second the 2-heddle request, please? There have been quite a few requests for information on this technique on the various Yahoo groups recently, and although I have the Ashford kit and instructions for my Knitters Loom, and also have the book on 3-heddle weaving, there is actually not that much around. The instructions in Betty Davenports Rigid Heddle Weaving appear to be the same as the Ashford instructions. Its not so much a how to for every single draft possible but an explanation of the technique so that we can work by ourselves without the hit and miss "lets see if this works" approach.

I'm another fan of Weavezine and eagerly look forward to your weekly updates, as well as rummaging through the archives!
