I am in the process of spinning 2 icelandic fleeces for the express purpose of weaving a shawl or blanket on a WWL... which I will build once the yarn is spun... hopefully that will be this July or August.  I am using a wheel, but since I work fulltime, it isn't realistic to spindle spin.  I plan to use a cardwoven tape at the top, and use a twill pattern... I am stoked about this!

Hi Cathy!

Have you started the actual weaving yet?  I'm asking because I'm looking at converting my 8-S horizontal Standard to a 12-S vertical and am interested to know what kind of shed you're able to get when using all 12 shafts in a project.

Thank you ALL so much for the help!  My husband and I made a raddle this afternoon - I had been warping front-to-back, but will do this one back-to-front.

Tina, your simple explanation of "heddles are for the pattern, sleying the reed is for the epi" made perfect sense to me, and broke through my confusion.  Thanks so much.

I'm on track now and will begin working on warping the loom this evening.   Can't wait to post about my progress - I LOVE the tencel, and think it will make a beautiful scarf.

There was a project in an old HandWoven magazine for weaving a bit of overshot on a 4 harness table loom. It was actually written by a child but it suited my skills and I wove a nice little table scarf/place-mat. It was a lot of fun and I would like to make more. But I require being lead by the nose for this kind of weaving... I need another step by step --please!

Wow! There are 27 members already, great!

I thought I should have announced about SAORI 40th Anniversary this November in Osaka, Japan.

So far, in this group, Terri and I are going to be a part of the event!

If you are interested in being a part of it, please let me know. I can send you the details.

November is a good month to visit Japan I think.....

Happy Weaving!

Hi there,

I'm Lynnette and I live in Coldstream in the North Okanagan.  I like to think of myself as an active weaver and always try to have something on my main looms.  I find my blogspot keeps me weaving like mad too.

Right now I'm working on scarves, scarves, scarves, try ing to get some inventory for the upcoming sale season.

I belong to the Ponderosa Guild in Kelowna and am active in the Guild of Canadian Weavers where I'm the Scholarship Chair and the Exchange Coordinator.
