When I first joined Weavolution, I had to work through some issues with posting new projects and am still learning.  I wanted to start a topic where people could feel free to ask questions, vent frustrations, and otherwise get assistance in enjoying the site as much as possible.  Many things I found are pretty simple once I figured out what I was doing wrong -- of course, I didn't read the "directions" except as a last resort. So, if you're like me and just want a simple answer, feel free to post here!

I thought that problem was suppose to be genetic for men only. :)

Speak for yourself ReedGuy , I have no problems reading pictures and most words unless they are doctorate university vocabulary level.

I may read the directions but I don't necessarily follow them :)

Glad to see we're all on the same page, so to speak.  :)    The only time I read directions is on DIY furniture projects and to set the clock in my car twice a year.

What got me thinking was this:  I was trying to "add a project" yesterday and as I was doing it, I realized I needed to "add yarn" and "add a draft."  After several unsuccessful tries, I finally figured out, if I added the yarn and draft first, then went back and separately chose "add a project," I didn't have so many problems.  My computer kept getting "stuck,"  but that could also be related to having my laptop hooked to my Blackberry.

the same thing about the project page. Every once in a while I luck out and try to add something ( yarn, etc.) that is already in the data base but that rarely happens. I pretty much work on the hit and miss method when it comes to computer stuff! Tina

Sorry to say I'm still having too many issues with ease of use on Weavolution to be very active here.  All of my projects, drafts, looms, etc., have been lost in the ether, it seems. If you have a question about weaving in Maine while these issues are being ironed out, please don't hesitate to find me on the myriad Facebook Weaving sites.

Chris,

I must clear up a miststatement. No content is lost. All your projects can be found on Weavolution. Not everyone's projects retained their connection to the original author. We are fixing this issue as quickly as possible.

Thank you,

Erica

There seem to be so many things that don't work for me here, that I don't know where to start.  Lets try just one for now.  Why all the formatting marks in my text whenever I post something?

sandra.eberhar…

Try using a different browser.  I use Chrome.  I hate all the ads, but they all have ads.

I normally use Firefox in my desktop to post messages, so I'm going to try a little experiment posting from my phone, and then try from my desktop using Safari and see what the end result is.

norgard

Well, that didn't seem to make any difference, but I do notice that it seems to be punctuation marks and paragraph formats that cause the little &^%$**& things. So now I'm on Safari on my desktop and I'm going to go to preview and see what it looks like.

Well as you can see using a different browser doesn't seem to help.  Any other ideas short of trying a PC instead of my mac?

I want to create a new post to ask for advice about my warp.  How do I start a new thread?

Shasta Mom

I'm not sure how to post a new question.  I have an image I want to share with a question.....Not sure how/where to post....

Shasta Mom

I have a question that I would like to post with an image.  I'm not sure how to do that.  All I see is how to comment on others' posts....

At the very top of the page, you should see an add button, click this button and choose Discussion. Please make sure you choose at least one group to post the discussion in. I believe when you get into a new post adding and image will be easy and intuitive.

Let us know how you get on!
