I planned the warp color order on graph paper using one square per block. Each square represented a unit and I repeated the units 1, 2, or 3 times. A block was threaded 3,2,3,1 and B block was threaded 4,2,4,1. Treadle sequence a (tabby) for shafts 2 &4, A for shafts 1 & 4. B for shafts 2 & 3 and b for shafts 1& 3. So the pattern threads are on A & B and the tabby is a & b. I threaded enough for 5 towels for our study group. Each one of us wove a towel on this threading. The colors were chosen to go with the colors in our condo.
Another towel woven in Crackle weave as a sample (not pleased with it --- too "busy") Scandinavian Favorite treadling in dark browns from A d Pattern Book by Marguerite Davidson page 200. Background 3-4 & 1-4 3 times in dark green, 1-2 & 1-4 3 times in red, 3-4 & 1-4 3 times in light green, 2-3 & 3-4 3 times in dark green, 2-3 & 1-2 3 times in red, 2-3 & 3-4 3 times in light green. Threading from Davidson's p. 200 Anne Mueller's Crackle Weave.
