This is the first time I've tried to use plastic bags. The weaving went fine. I used continuous strips from each bag and just overlapped the edges when I came to the end. The handles (which I think turned out to narrow) are made of scrap yarn woven into the weft and braided in between. Sewing it up was OK, but my machine had a little trouble advancing over two layers of the plastic weave. My machine had a real problem from having sat un-used for a good while. Took off the casing and started put oil in the appropriate holes. Then I saw something odd piled around all the machinery: Raw macaroni! Those mice get everywhere (un-used sofa bed, back of bookshelves etc), but this must have been a real challenge for them. I had to unscrew two very tight screws. For the life of me I don't know how they got in there. I turned the machine upside down and shook most of the macaroni out (about 1/4 cup) but I had to get other bits out with a tweezer.
