It’s officiall - We have a new shop. It’s just around the corner from our old location but more than doubles our space!
We are now located on the ground floor of the Historic Market Square building at 315 St. Clair in downtown Frankfort. The building is one of the oldest on St. Clair (Circa 1854) when a fire destroyed the entire block. The building for years before 1900 was known as the Odd Fellows Hall which would have been on one of the upper floors. Records show that it was a bank and then around 1908 became a meat market which evolved into a grocery store. Later (probably in the 40’s) the IGA grocery store was there. By then the building was called “The Market House” which was the term used for the original market house. The building is known today as “Market Square” and is the new home of The Woolery.
We have a dedicated class room with a dye kitchen and plan to invite some very talented (and well known people) to offer instruction and workshops. We moved in October 15th, please be patient while we get re-organized! As you can see, we have a lot of work to be done - keep checking back for updates and more information.
