I received the following note:

The First Parish Church of Brunswick, Maine, is interested in commissioning a work of fabric art.  The design should be 18" wide and 23" long, with an additional 17" added to the length to rest under the Bible on the pulpit.  The primary color should be green, indicative of new life.  Possible symbols which could be used include symbols of creation and a Celtic Cross.  The art may be representational or abstract.

Artists who are interested in having their work considered should submit one or more images of their work to Dr. John Matt Dorn at [email protected].  Alternatively, images may be mailed to John Matt Dorn, MA, MD, at 246 Coombs Road, Brunswick, Maine, 04011.  A brief description of the work of art and something about the artist would be appreciated.  Works will be considered through the end of November, with the artist being notified which work has been selected by the end of the year.  If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Dorn by email.

Hi all,

Rev John Matt is still looking for someone to do this project for their church.  He sent the following picture of what is being replaced:

Please contact Rev John Matt Dorn at [email protected]  if you are interested in taking on this commission.

Claudia, if no one has taken this on, I could forward the information to some of the New England weavers.  Or, you could put a duplicate in the Weavolution New England group (I don't know how to do that).  We have several locals doing eccesiastical pieces.
