The warp has 2 threads per heddle. I took a great ripsmatta workshop at the Conference of Northern California Handweavers in 2007 from Joanne Tallarovic. I was hooked and made several sets of placemats. We had just remodeled our bathroom and my husband insisted that he did not want to turn in his black bathtowel for the smoky blue one that I wanted to go with the tile. Joanne had this design in her book Rep Weave and Beyond. It was challenging more challenging than the designs I had been making. I used her colors and killed two birds with one stone: increasing my skill and satisying my husband's desire to keep his black bath towel.
This was made from many colors of carpet warp (for the warp) and 1-inch strips of fabric for the weft. (I don't seem to be able to enter these in the fields above.)
