That looks really delightful !!!

I am not a spinner, so can't appreciate that part of it properly, but it looks very professional to me.

Lovely colors and a beautifull scarf. How did you calculate your warp and weft. Are you counting the laps on the skeinwinder, or do you have a yarn meter or did you estimate what you need ?

Hi Kristina,

I  wound the handspun into skeins on a niddy noddy, so I counted the number of times around the 1.5 yard loop.  I do have a yarn meter, but I've actually never bothered using it yet.  Maybe one of these days I'll see if I like that better!

Notes

I used the fingering weight 2-ply handspun I spun on my spindle from the “Poppy” themed Spindies box for the warp. For weft I used 1 strand of Jaggerspun Zephyr in black, 1 strand of Lacey Lamb in red.

The handspun warp was very easy to weave! I sett it at 12 epi, and I got about 14ppi with the weft at a very light beat. I didn’t have a single broken warp thread either. I tried several different weft options but I felt the combination of the black and red kept the same overall color value as the warp alone, and that’s what I was wanting to maintain. The ends are hemstitched by hand, with twisted fringe.
