I used A Weaver's 8 Shaft Pattern book for the draft for these trees. It was so much fun making them! It was quite a challenge to convert the tie-ups to fit in 10 treadles. I used the online treadle reducer, but in most cases, it could not find a solution. I also had to get creative in a few places because I didn't have enough chain snap ties for the tieup.
Overall very fun. I've documented the tie-up and treadlings in my notebook for future reference but I won't post them here because the original design is not mine (just the adaptations).
4 of the towels are for one of the pastors at Brent's church. She asked me to make them for her to give as gifts this holiday season.
I have been weaving mostly with wools lately and it was such a pleasure to work with this mercerized cotton! I had all of 2 broken warp threads for the entire warp and I was able to weave the plain weave sections extremely quickly. It was a cardio workout!
