Gorgeous! I did a small piece of tabby, using the recycled silk as weft, and have been thinking about other ways of using it.
This fabric is weft-faced. I used the sari silk in plain weave between bands of Flessbergplegg (boundweave on 3-shaft pointed twill) woven with rayon floss.
I wove lots of it, then cut it into squares and re-assembled the squares on the bias. From that fabric and the lengths of chenille I was able to sew this jacket. Lining is tie-dyed rayon.
