I love this top - and  you have inspired to try my hand, as well.

Thanks for the extra tips, especially deepening the shoulder seam angle to reduce the armhole size.

I'm about to start my 2nd summer top tomorrow.  The shoulder  seam angle was really the  key to fit.

Glad you liked it.  Can't  wait to see yours!

Notes

Total finished length of 7 yd was used for dish towel project and summer top.  Have enough remaining for another towel and a few smaller items.

03/13 -Finished weaving the 7 yd warp using 4 different treadlings on a reverse twill threading

03/16 - Ruminating on what the finished top will look like – sleeveless using 2-3 of the patterned fabric

03/26 - I decided to use a sleeveless linen top from FLAX that I love as an inspiration. Bought a cotton sheet at Goodwill for $2.99 and ripped it into 20 inch wide strips to make a “dummy” top. It helped me work through a few problems.

04/02 - Started the top using the last piece I wove at the end of the warp that didn’t have as many floats for the yoke and the other longer piece as the lower part of the top. I was going to piece it together using it warp-wise but then had a brainstorm… turn it and use it weft-wise. That way I could get the width I wanted and put a dart in it so that it would fit better.

04/06 – After fussing whether I would add sleeves or not – I went with my original idea of a sleeveless top and I’m so much happier with the results. My first attempt had huge arm holes so I just added a deeper angle at the shoulder seam and it was just the trick. I finished all the edges with French seams to tuck in the raw handwoven edges. I very happy with the results and know that I’ll wear it a lot because it goes with denim and can be dressed up or down!
