Help!  I was just tying on and beginning to weave when my front apron cloth ripped!  Any idea how to save this (even temporarily) so I can weave out my warp?!

Good idea for getting this warp woven...Are replacement aprons sold?

I'd be inclined to cut the apron where it ripped.  Take out the metal rod.  Fold the remaining apron edge over the rod (making a pocket like the top of a curtain).  Use upholstery thread and need to stitch the pocket closed.  Or possibly use rivets.  But then I'm a glutton for punishment.  And then again you could just replace the whole apron.  Frown

I bought new aprons for my loom from Camilla Valley Farm.  I believe they were Leclerc replacements.

I prefer to do quick and dirty repairs when a warp is on the loom to avoid tension issues.  Since the apron has torn, the threads are weak and will tear again, so it should be replaced; but my preference is not to do this type of repair with a warp on.

Who says you have to sacrifice any of your weaving that you've done so far? Just cut the brown tie that is holding the apron on and after replacing the apron with a new fresh one, tie your warp back up. You may have to fuss with it a bit to get the tension even, but I don't see why you would have to unweave or cut off what you've done or even start over again. Just be patient and tweak it back into place and the proper tension.
