My name is Paul, and I just purchased last night a Macomber B4 48" 4H, 6T loom.  Included both plain and sectional beams.  It needs a LOT of cleaning, and some SMALL repairs, but nothing too extraordinary.  I haven't even gotten it home yet, but figured I'd reach out to say hello to everyone.  I've been reading a LARGE number of posts on cleaning, repairing, etc., and am 100% confident I'll be bringing this guy back to a great shine and productive life very soon.  I currently own a 36" Tools of the Trade 4H / 6T that I learned on, and that is absolutely perfect, but I figured a little bigger would be a little better!   I've only done rugs to date, so I'm going to spend some time branching out...  I know there's a lot to experience.

I love mechanical things, and can't wait to see what I can do to enhance this unit.  As a near-beginner, I'm sure 4H will suffice for a while, but I"m definitely planning to add additionall harnesses and treadles. If there's a lamm or jack graveyard out there, let me know!!!

I can't figure out how to paste a picture, but if someone tells me or I figure it out, I promise to show where things are at...  Can I directly past in an image, or do I need to save it at a URL?

Looking forward to sharing things with you all.

Welcome to the group!  Macs are very good looms, as are TOTTs.  Macomber is still in business, and still selling loom parts.  I have not seen people looking for used shafts  see much success, so you may have to get them from Macomber if you decide you need more than 4.  When you pick up your Mac, be sure to get the little piece that slips under the brake lever and holds  it up for winding a warp on.

If you click on the Help tab, you will see directions for posting pictures.

I'll try to make sure.  I'll need to see if I can find a picture.  I know there aren't any manuals for these looms - it's kind of tough as a new owner of one to see what might be missing!!!  :-)  THANKS!
