When I received my Journey Loom and looked through the book, I fell in love with the Earth Loom and the possibilities.  My cousins were visiting at the time and so my cousins husband when out on our property and found some trees that had fallen in the forest and built me an Earth Loom.  (It's about 6 feet tall - I realized that there is nothing in this picture for scale - I'll get more photos later).

I have just put it up and will start warping it.  I'm hoping that people who come by will add in all kinds of treasures to the weaving on the loom.

I have also written about it on my blog.

Happy Weaving,

Terri

That is fantastic! It opens up a whole new style and area of weaving. I keep looking at the shade underneath the pergola out the back and wondering, I'm very tempted!

Oh yes! wonderful. I am beginning to look around for a possible place for one like that. Be sure to let us know what weaving is done!

Half of our double trunked black oak fell this summer.  I have my eyes on some of the branches for my own Earth Looms.  yes multiple.  There are lots of branches.  This is going to be lots of fun!  I will be looking forward to seeing what you do with yours.

I know this is OT but I clicked the link to your blog to see the Earth loom and it looks like you have a new blog design. Is that true?  I was hoping you still had the link to Weavolution but didn't find it.  I did find so many new things to explore. I hope you'll share more with the users here on Weavolution. We are over 4300 strong as of today.

Happy 2010.

Hi Claudia,

Yes, I have a new blog design - but my main links page is on my website - www.saorisaltspring.com and Weavolution continues to be there.  I have now added it to my blog links as well.

Happy Weaving,

Terri

The Saori loom from Japan on your website is fascinating. Do you sell those too?   I tried to find it online but all the sites were in Japanese, of course, and I don't know if there is anywhere in the US to buy this loom. What an ingenious invention.

Thanks for the link, and you woven cloth sounds like an interesting adventure. Keep us posted.
