I am new to tapestry weaving and want to begin blending colors. I have read that you can bundle 20/2 yarns but brands are not mentioned.

The yarn I use is from Fine Fiber Press and is a nice wool imported from Norway.

I use it in multiple strands for tapestry weft, number of strands per weft bundle depending on the warp sett.  For instance, I might use it a 6 together for 8 epi of warp of 12/12 cotton seine twine.  Fewer strands of weft when using 10 or 12 epi with smaller seine twine.

The Woolery sells Swedish 6/1 wool for tapestry weaving.  There are 74 colors.  It is the Scandinavians who still dye their yarns in lots of colors.  And they make yarns specifically for weaving.

I like Alf yarns too, I sometimes use them exclusively in a bundle 5-6 as Tommye suggests at 8 epi. It has a sheen to it and the colors are rich. You can call Fine Fibre Press ( remember they are on Pacific Time! ) and have a color card sent to you for a minimal fee. I also like to mix it with other yarns to give a slightly richer color.
