Hey all,

I've noticed that some people have a counter that shows how many "hits" a blog entry has had.  Does anyone know how to install this on Wordpress?  is there a module that will do it easily?

Never mind - I answered my own question!  I installed the "Count per Day" module and did some fiddling around with PHP in the theme files (warning: their cut-and-paste PHP has some extra spaces in it that will break the code if not removed), and presto!  I now have the number of page views per post on the post and on the home page as well.  I also put the number of blog visitors into the sidebar.

Next on the agenda: getting a list of the countries people are visiting from!

Tien, I know you answered your own question, but if all you want is the total number of visits or hits to your entire blog to show on your pages all you have to do is go to "Appearance" on your dashboard, then click on "Widgets" and drag the "Blog Stats" to your sidebar.

Hi Eva, What version of wordpress are you using? Nowhere on my dashboard or any tab, do i find "Appearance". Maybe my version is older? I can get to Widgets from the Design tab... but that's not an option, nor is the blog roll. I have a "links" widget, but that doesn't really capture live time... i'm so perplexed!

thanks for any insight.

Are you at wordpress.com or wordpress.org?  I'm on the .com that's the freebie one with the limited number of things you can do with it and when they upgrade here I think everyone gets upgraded together so mine wouldn't be a different version.   But it doesn't matter since you did find the "links" widget  and as it says under it that is "your blogroll".  But you're right I don't know about it capturing live time.  As I mentioned in my earlier reply, go to Wordpress support and you can send them your question from there and they are very nice and helpful.
