This is a nice surprise! Thank you Michelle!

I took my receiving bowl off the loom last week, and thanks to a bout of bad sinuses and a very busy weekend, I haven't had a chance to finish it yet. It'll be interesting to see what shape it turns out.

I used to make soft dolls, back in the days when I could see to thread a needle without squinting, so I'm looking forward to the next keyform and already hunting through my stash for suitable handspun,  though I must admit I'm very tempted to make a few more receiving bowls, using different yarn combinations.

I'm  enjoying working through this book, both the reading and the weaving; its satisfying and relaxing. I find spindle spinning grounds me far more than spinning on my wheel, and this is doing the same.

I don't have a Journey loom yet, but I an feel myself getting closer and closer to ordering one.  I am still really taken by the garden loom idea, too.  I want to get some kind of loom in my garden yet this summer.  It would be really fun to have it done by Sept. 19, when I teach a natural dye workshop here.  People could weave too!  So many good ideas - so little time!  Get off the computer, Kathy :)

I am looking forward to seeing your receiving bowl (and your other projects) Caroline, as I live vicariously for now.

I have my Amulet off the loom and added some beads, but I think it still needs something.  Just what that something is has not come to hand yet so no pictures.  I think I may need to go a viking in one of my viking friends bead box.  (Yes, Greeness I'm talking about you)

I've taken the first step!  I've just ordered a Journey Loom 5 minutes ago.  It's been calling me for months.  I finally woke up and thought, I'm 60 next month, what am I waiting for!

Looking forward to sharing the journey with you all.

Thats great! I'm sure I speak for the others when I say we will enjoy sharing your journey, and our own journeys with you too, because they are all that little bit different, but share the same experiences as well. I'm excited for you!

I just received my Journey Loom yesterday!  It was fun as my cousin's children are here and I had them put it together with me.  They have woven on my Saori looms so understood how it might all work.

They just took off with the ideas about the Earth Looms - and are already talking about building one in the garden!

Happy Weaving,

Terri

My Journey Loom has just come home to me, after languishing for a year at my publisher's.... I used it in my upcoming book and the publisher kept my looms for photography.

Anyhow... I am a very happy camper to have it back!

I will be weaving away on it soon.....  It's just so lovely!

My Journey Loom arrived this week too!  I've opened it and handled it but not put it together yet - I'm taking my time to absorb the book first.  I love the idea of the Earth Loom and I'm already planning to erect one after we move next year.

Am I correct, as someone who has vowed to purchase no more new looms, that this Journey, um, Thing is in fact just a bunch of sticks and hardware (and book and amulet kit) when it arrives, and that it cannot really be called a Journey Loom unless someone takes the additional step of assembly?

Do you think they could give me a manly-man's (LOL) travel bag that isn't all flowers and rainbows?

Since no one asserted that the Journey is a loom before it's put together, I went ahead and ordered one. I'll let you know if it comes with a girlie tote bag to give away.

My Journey kit arrived today with a navy/white carrier bag.  Just in time for a long weekend.  Looking forward to reading and weaving.  I believe this book and Saori will complement one another very well and increase my understanding of both.

Enjoy, I do think that this and Saori are two sides of the same coin!

Its very relaxing and refreshing.

I think so, too. I certainly love both Saori and Zati weaving for the freedom of expression and the emphasis on weaving something that is personally meaningful. Without meaning, it's just yardage.

I really would love to see everyone's work!

I need to post my amulet and re-warp for my bowl as the first one just did not feel right with the yarn I had on hand so I did not finish it.

I think I will do this one with handspun to make it truly my own!

Hello All...

I studied with Susan & became a certified Weaving Circle Leader...If you have the opportunity to avail yourself of this course please do so....it was amazing...I not only learned a great deal about weaving on the Journey Loom, I learned a great great deal about myself & my creative process.

I am teaching a Weaving Circle Workshop Series in Southern Ontario starting this Spring & am developing an online workshop series as well.  I'm hoping to get this launched in the Fall of this year...

I'm also attempting to get an Earth Loom built in my small town...more on that later!

Looking forward to meeting you!

Anne
