hi, Does anyone know where I can find the pattern for a beret made using a cardboard loom? The warp is threaded through the cardboard template, the weaving starts at the centre of the top of the hat, then once completed the cardboard is cut away to reveal the completed hat.

cheers, Caroline

Thank you! I'm off to hunt the book down on my bookshelf!

I see Caroline's question and her thanks but I missed what book holds the pattern.  Now I want to make that hat, it sounds like a fun project.

Thanks,

Claudia

I just realized something... that website I put up give the wrong author. The author is Wendy Cartwright.

hi Claudia, Its a book called Weaving Hand-made Style. I had forgotten the pattern was in there. It uses modern yarns so many of the projects are made with knitting yarns, and tend to weave up quickly. The beret is a lovely project and can use up all sorts of left-overs and short bits.

That's great Thanks I still have a stash of knitting yarns from before weaving was my mainstay. Claudia

Has anyone started this hat yet? I'm still waiting for my book to come in ;)

A friend of mine has. I haven't as I'm about to start a weavealong in another group, and I'm a bit snowed under with projects that are started but not finished.

The book came today! Yay! I'm loving it. Looks like I'll have to buy this one.
