Ok, for some reason the message I put in did not show up. I am new to weaving and just got my first loom a Union 36 to weave rag rugs with. I have been making a rug a day for the past 3 weeks and loving it. I was wondering if there is any one else on here from St. Clair County Michigan?

people from Michigan looking to connect for sure. Use the Search function and type in "Michigan". I wonder if there is a Michiganers group on here... if not, you could start one :) There was a recent post from someone in your state looking to connect with weavers in her area and there were a lot of links shared in the comments. I recommend you dig around for that one. And welcome :)

Yes Mary started this lovely Michigan Weavers Group. It seems to be allowing lots of folks in Michigan to connect. Cheers, Erica

wow, what a way to start.  I'm having fun learning on my Union 36 also, but afraid I can't keep up with that!  What are you using for your weft?

What are you going to do with all those rugs?   Pictures please!

jenjscott and SallyE I am going to start up with my farmers markets this spring and will take them with me. We also have a few festivals this summer. I make cinn. almond granola and a granola breakfast bar all natural with local honey along with our fresh veggies from our garden. I recycle a lot of items and well why not old clothing too!!

Oh I am sorry I am useing 8/2 cotton warp that was on the loom when I bought it. My weft is old clothing and fabric my friends and family would have thrown away. I also had some fabric left over from some of the furniture I have recovered. I am useing 2" strips sewn together. I was told and read in a book that this is the old Finnish way of weaving rag rugs. I would like to try dish towels next. I am on the look out for a real good deal on a small portable loom.
