My attempt in double-sided sprang has started.

I have chosen hand-dyed wool in green (weld+indigo) and yello (weld) and warped it on my travel/sample loom. The set-up for this kind of sprang is an AABB-colour-sequence.

What I didn't recognize when warping my threads was, that although I was working the front and the back colours at once they will appear as separate layers and only in HALF the width than on the loom. So my small pouch is becoming even smaller than expected. Anyway... it will at least store my cell phone.

I've provided photos of the work in progress on the projects' page.

Greetings and good night

Rigana/Andrea

Since Monday evening I haven't had any time to work on my sprang piece, but nevertheless I managed to work a small green chevron on a yellow background. Photos will follow tomorrow.

Now I can say that I've understood the technique of working double-sided sprang although I'm still not 100% content with the result. The chevron is a little bit bent and I'm still investigating where in the pattern (I did it free-hand) this happened.

In the last rows remaining, I want to change colour completely, meaning to bring the back colour on the front and vice versa.
After this I'm going to finish the piece by securing the middle and ends and sew it together.

I have uploaded a couple of pictures on my projects' page.

Tonight, I'm going to finish the piece itself. Sewing will be during the weekend.
