I have organized snippets of my stash in a binder that I take with me when I shop.  I f ind it helps keep me focused and helps me buy with my head and not my heart. I've posted my method  of making my organizer on my blog  Dustbunniesundermyloom.

I have three of those plastic tower drawers that you can get at any big box store and made by Rubber Maid. There is 7 or 8 drawers in two sizes and they are set on rollers. Handy for moving around the studio and keeps all the small stuff wrangled!  They make smaller ones that will sit on top of the larger ones.... handy!

I guess my biggest organisation tip is that I keep my studio clutter free ( as much as one can with weaving!)   I only have out the yarns in progress... so the project being woven, the next one being wound etc.  All others once done are put back into stash storage. After each project comes off the loom I clean off the loom and vacuum on and around to get rid of the lint and dust. I weave with black a lot so this is quite obvious to see.  ( I have allergies and  this sort of routine clean up comes second nature.... granted this won't work for everyone :)

I also move on finishing things in a timely way .... no piles of hemming, fringe twisting etc. I do them as they are ready. I can't imagine tackling a huge pile of handwork and feeling good about it.  It could show in the results.

Now, I'm not a production weaver so have the luxury of time to do this but I have a constant flow of work coming off the looms.  Years ago I ran a bakery and deli for a grocery chain and the key to pumping out daily product was to work smart and clean as you went. You had to be methodical! Between ordering in supplies, to product rotation and staffing, it was more about organisation skills than my culinary abilities!  I get a lot of neighbourly foot traffic in my studio and a tidy appearance is great.... now to work on a sale corner so my product is out on display.
