I'm also a member of Complex Weavers, and very recently joined the Early Weaving Books & Manuscripts study group after I was able to purchase about 15 years of EWB&M newsletters & samples from a retiring weaver.  Wow!  I am still paging through the sample sheets, and now thinking ahead to fall and weaving for that group.

I am new to this web site but very interested in all historic drafts/ old patterns, etc. I want to weave small items using old drafts. What does "thread-jack " mean???

So nice to meet you. I also belong to Complex Weavers Organization (http://complex-weavers.org) and their "Early American Coverlets" and also "Early Weaving Books and Manuscripts" home study groups. I love both of the groups.  My guild (Weavers Guild of Greater Cincinnati at http://weaversguildcincinnati.org) is going to host Marjie Thompson, who is the chairman of the manuscripts group,  in October in Cincinnati. I can hardly wait for her lecture and workshop.

I would love to hear what you and others are weaving.

I too am a member of the EWB&M Complex Weavers study group.   My goal is to weave every draft in the John Hargrove 1792 book.  I have been working a new "old" project for a class I plan to teach at the John C. Campbell Folk School in 2010.  The class title is, Weavings of the Settlement Schools.  Since I am the Resident Weaver of the John C. campbell Folk School I come across lots of history and information.  My neighbor who is Danish and has a long history with Brasstown and the Folk School was moving back to Denmark.   She gave me some old weaving and a small counter balance loom.  Well the weavings were samples that was woven as settlement school production pieces and the loom is an Ann Ernberg loom to boot.  So this just got me researching on what type of woven pieces were produced. So it has been fun researching this!!!
