Anyone out there with Weavemaker?  I am trying to figure out how to bring a bitmap file or a jpg into my liftplan.   Any suggestions?  I have looked thru my manual and have not found the proper phrase.  thank you for any hints.

Have you read either of Alice's books?  I edit my bitmap in PS...do NOT use jpeg or any other format.

Set up your threading, then copy the bitmap and paste into the liftplan.  Make sure the # of pixels are equal to the number of shafts you are using, btw.

You might have to clean up some stray pixels, but I've had good luck with it.

Alice's books are a MUST if you are going to try interfacing this sort of thing.

my stumbling block was my bitmap was 24 pixels and my liftplan was set at 20 shafts (allowing for selvedge threads) duhhhhh, thanks for taking time to answer!

I am experimenting with Stitchpainter for liftplan design, will post more when I am more confident that I can explain it.

this is funny!  I hadn't noticed that was you posting, just answered the question.  talk about "duh."

Anyway, Alice covers this in both books.  I've done the same dumb trick with the pixels.  I get it all worked out, get ready to go and have to say "Oops" and thank the gods I am alone with my computer.

Getting set for a tapestry workshop over in Virginia.  I realized that she's only an hour from Manakin, which is the site of a large colony of Huguenot settlers, including several of my ancestors, so I am going to to AWOL that Sunday morning to go to the church there.  Kind of thrilling to think that I will be in the church where they worshipped!  Even better, it's now Episcopal (-;  When I'm in Canterbury, I attend the Huguenot chapel at the Cathedral which, despite being in one of the principal Church of England seats, maintains a Calvinist worship service.  My ancestors came via London, though.  And yes, they were weavers!

anyway. if I can do anything else to help, drop me a line or a FB message etc.
