How wide did you cut the denim strips? what did you use to cut them? and what warp did you use.

I used 100% cotton Maysville carpet warp in various shades of blue, green & natural.  The denim came, of course, from old blue jeans and I used it all except pockets, seams, zipper & waistbands.  The strips were cut about 1-1/2 inches wide, I do not measure.  Then you sew them all together, making several balls before you start.  I make them about the size of a grapefruit, maybe a little larger, as that is what fits on my shuttles without having to cut any more.

They are beautiful rugs, with the different shades of blues and very durable.

Notes

I just loved the recycled denim rugs.  They will last forever and the colors are so beautiful.  I would sell this one for $75.00.
