I would like to try my hand at weaving some rag rugs, and the most suitable loom I have access to is a 48" PDL.  I am sure this is not a typical use for this loom, but I am wondering if anyone out there has tried it anyway.  I have two concerns from the start:

- Narrow sheds, possibly too narrow for a rag shuttle.  Is there any way to adjust the size of the shed?  I couldn't find it in the manual!

- High enough tension.  The loom has very consistent, even tension, but I am not sure what to do to increase it as far as I would like.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The way our site works, everyone see all the posts in Forums. groups are based on your personal interests so fewer people belong to each group. I weave rag rugs but do it on a countermarche Glimakra standard so don't know how to answer your question. It's a very good question and I know we have lots of members with AVL looms. They may not belong to this group. Claudia Segal, Weavolution co-founder
