Notes

Jockey Hollow Weavers does a yearly exchange. Last year, we did a potpourri; each person put about 4 yarns in a paper bag, and we each took a bag that wasn't ours and made something with the yarns for the bags owner. I got Daryl Lancaster, and had a great time stretching myself to use colors that weren't "me" and yarns that I had never used before.

I used the same yarn for warp, weft and tabby, a rayon slub in two different colors, plus a few smatterings of a few yarns from my stash in the weft for interest. They did sort of get lost, as did the "crackling" There was some interesting texture, but I could have woven it in plainweave with a similar finished fabric( and faster). If I had to do it again, I would stretch even more, and use a thinner tabby; the fabric has drape, but is very heavy.

Overall, very fun, and lucky me to weave for Daryl Lancaster.
