Notes

Using the draft from a long-ago workshop by Robyn Spady (Let's Whig Out), I put 10 yards of colorful warp on this Structo 600 table loom for visitors to weave off while visiting Hill House, in Millbrook Village, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. We have some more traditionally-warped looms for weavers to make goods for the village, but this is one of the looms that needs "eye candy" to entice kids and adults.

Note how tight the warp is on the warp beam, and that it barely clears the back beam. There are only 5 thin packing sticks at the base of the warp beam to cover the rods, a few slit paper towel tubes for support, and the brown paper from 5 grocery bags. I used 2.5 pounds of water weight when beaming for tight tension. Unless you use a thinner cotton, I would never attempt to put more than 10 yards on one of these looms.
