I am now the proud owner of this loom that belonged to my grandmother and then my dad. Sadly both are gone now, but i do have a few childhood memories of helping with this. I know it needs some repair and I have no idea if or where to get parts or string or how to roll or wrap or what it is that I should do. As you can see I am very lost and confused but would love to restore it to working order and relive a few memories. If anyone knows where to start in the mess I have just thrown out there any help is much appreciated.

Let us know where you are and we can connect you with guilds in your area.

Click on the word "Groups" in the top right hand corner of the orange box above, read thru the list and you'll find some beginner groups, Weaving 101, several repair groups and maybe a group in your geographical area.  I think there is a good book group also.  Take the time to read thru all the groups that have formed and look thru them.  There is alot of good information posted on line.

But as I said, let us know where you are and we can try and connect you with weavers in your immediate area.

ah, I hit enter too quick!  Your loom and its story is great.  I'm sure with a little effort and knowledge you'll add your own warp to the family cloth!  Welcome to weaving!  Deb Mc
