Monk's Belt Placemats

I made a set of eight placemats, each 14" x 21" after washing and hemming.  This draft came from Jean Scorgie's "Handweaver's Craft," Spring, 2004.  I wove the design in sets of two of each colorway, shifting the pattern colors as I began each new set of two so that the full set would coordinate but be somewhat different.  I have been collecting so many colors of tow linen over the years, I wanted to showcase as many colors as possible.  I thought this would make the weaving more interesting for me, as well as having all the watery, beachy colors to enhance son's coastal Connecticut house.  It was a successful project!
