PIGMENTS – GETTING DOWN AND DIRTY! This fast paced program will cover how to produce your own pigments for use on natural fibers, along with several methods for application. The morning will be spent in lecture format as we cover how to make pigments from the dirt under your feet, as well as from vegetable and insect dyes. We'll delve into rice paste resist, clamp resist, stamping, and shibori. An abundance of samples will be presented to fire up your imagination. The afternoon will be spent in hands-on activities. As time allows, this will include dyeing paste resisted silk and working with clamp-dye techniques and direct painting. Participants will take home a DVD of all the information covered in class, including action video clips.

Hi folks, I am short on people for this class to go. We are running this as a breakeven class and without a sponsor for class fees  we have to have 7 more people to pay the day class fee to our teacher.  I was able to get our class space for free thanks to our Blanco County Extension agent, Gretchen Sanders.   If you are intend to take this class please send your deposit.  I have about two weeks before I have to pull the trigger on go or no go.  Thanks in advance.  regards  Deb McClintock

Space is available in this introduction workshop. Please send in class deposit to confirm your space.  This is an ideal intro one day class to get to know John and his style of teaching.  Please spread the word!  regards Deb

There is a class limit of 20 people.  Some folks have asked about housing.  I've scheduled the workshop day start for 10am to allow for commute time.  Sometimes you just have to drive.  Here is a web link to the Johnson City area motels and Bed & Breakfasts.  We are only 30 minutes from Marble Falls which also gives you many choices.  email me separately if you have questions.  Here is the housing link:  www.johnsoncity-texas.com/business_category/cat_5_lodging.html
