This sample was woven during a Jacquard workshop I took at the Montreal Center for Contemporary Textiles in August 2009.
I scanned 2 color images and using Photoshop combined them into one image and then reversed that image to create a single piece. One image is of our sailboat on Lake Champlain and the second image is taken looking down at our dock with the sky reflected in the water. I used Photoshop to turn it into a black and white image. I then manipulated it with the Pointcarre jacquard program to limit the values to 12 and applied a satin weave structure to the values from lightest to darkest for both the sailboat in the square and the water/dock.
The last image is Photoshop combined photos of the entire image if woven. Finished size would be 21x42” for the 2 images.
