Hello all!  If you're not aware of it already, Complex Weavers is having an exhibit (actually two exhibits) to coincide with Seminars 2012, which will be held Sep 12-15 in Chevy Chase, MD.  Here are details for the first one (for this one, you do NOT need to be a member of Complex Weavers to enter):

--------------------------

The Boob Tube Hour, brought to you by Complex Weavers Seminars 2012!

Two events, a short video and an informal exhibit, at the conference are planned to complement Edward Maeder's luncheon lecture:

Rise and Fall of the Female Breast: The Aesthetics of the Bosom in History.

Fashionistas get ready!  We want bras, merkins, cod pieces, corsets, and stays.

EmBRAce your creativity--Embellish, weave, piece, felt, bead, create!

These events are not juried.  You do not need to attend the conference to have your piece represented in the video.
1.  Submit images of your artwork in JPG or TIF format, to be included in a video.  No other formats can be accepted.

2.  Image must be 5 mbs or less. Images with too few pixels per inch will not necessarily appear their best on a large screen.

3.  Include with your transmission:
  •   Name
  •   Title of Work (if any)
  •   Size (if appropriate)
  •   Fiber technique
4.  Attach image to email with subject:
     CW2012 submission

     Send to: [email protected]

5.  Deadline:  January 1, 2012 At the conference there will be an informal exhibit of the collected work.

You may bring your piece(s) with you, or arrange for someone else to bring them to the conference.  In the latter event, please be sure that your courier understands he/she is responsible for returning your work to you. Unfortunately, the conference committee is not in a position  either to accept or return art work.

Hi Tien,

Went over to Wiki to confirm that a cod piece is/was something worn by men, I'm not planning to create a cod piece myself but if someone did would that be shown in this exhibit?
