After weaving several towels in miniature overshot it seemed a good time to try a few baby blankets. This is the first one off the current warp. The draft is "Lovers' Knot No. 1" from Miniature Patterns for Hand Weaving Part I by Josephine E. Estes.
I cut this first one off to check shrinkage and to see if I finally found the right beat to weave the pattern to square. Also there was an annoying sleying error right smack-dab in the center so that had to be fixed. The second wee coverlet is now underway and will be better than the first. Even with its flaws, this little blankie is pleasing and endearing.
Just added a few more photos. The grey one at the bottom of the stack is a smaller piece from the end of the warp. It should make a nice table runner.
And just in case you are worried, I know Beanie Babies aren't good toys for baby. The little rabbit does give you a good idea of scale, though. I just couldn't help it; he is so cute.
