Simple Huck is always so wonderful.  Looks great.

is it as light and airy as it looks?

It is very light and airy.  As I wove it, it looked like gauze, as is usual with Huck Weave.  But after a spin in the gentle wash cycle, the dryer, and a good ironing the weave structure blossomed.  I'm really pleased with it, and my wife loves it!

Dave,

verry smart accessory!  I was planning something similar for the mother-in-law and am now sure it will be a hit.  I've not yet tried huck and related.  Have you tried this in silk, as well?  Or fine wool?

No I have not tried silk or wool with this draft.  Silk should work fine, but I would not try wool.  It will full too much and fill in the gaps.  It may turn out interesting, but it won't look like lace.  I look forward to seeing your piece posted.

Can you say what draft you used for this?  It is lovely. My homegrown cotton would work well this way, I think.

This is the Huck Waffle draft from the Weaving Lace video by Madelyn van der Hoogt.
