BTW - the yarn info didn't take:  Warp=20/2 cotton, float= 10/2 cotton, tabby weft=silk sewing thread (to get the proportions right)  191 pattern ends.

I would love to see pictures of the piece you are trying to replicate!

Well, what you have made is lovely in any case. I enjoyed reading the background to this project...thank you.

I enjoy reading the background too.  How fun for you that you've got such a lovely piece of family history.

If you tell me "not so long" I am going to be *really* impressed you figured this out! Great pattern. Overshot just has so many design possibilities.

Notes

Last Christmas Mom showed me a piece of fabric 4" in dia and said, "This was a piece of your great, great, great grandmother's bedspread."  My eyes popped out of my head.  It was handwoven and it was overshot!  Further investigation revealed that g^3Gma died in 1918.  That little piece of my distaff history must be >100 years old.  I had to try to duplicate it.  Turns out gAunt had a bigger piece and this pattern isn't quite right - hence the name I've given it.  I hope to get the pattern right and reproduce the original in linen and wool - and perhap at full scale.
