I understand that "honeycomb" is used in the U.K. for cloth we call "waffle weave" in North America. Is there a European/British term for this cloth which we call honeycomb in North America?

Are all of the yarns 8/4 cotton? I always use a thicker weft for the outliner picks and a thin weft for the cells. One of these weft yarns provides contrast in value against the warp and thus becomes the focus. When the cells are the focus, they can be placed to form patterns or they can change colors to make little jewels in the cloth. When the outliners are the focus, the deflection is the main design element. (When the cloth is washed, the outliner picks move closer together.) If you have more warp, you might try some samples.

sorry it took me so long to answer. No the thick pick is sugar and cream which is about twice the size of the 8/4 I am adding a picture of the tote bag today.

I enjoyed weaving this. It was my second honeycomb warp. The first was natural and hard to see the pattern. Even after I washed it, the color made it hard to see the pattern. I am weaving inkle band for handles.
