Thank you Ellen.  It did turn out pretty.  Not the choice I would have taken had I had other "sock" yarn to choose from though.  It was a contest and the rules stated that it had to have "sock yarn" printed on the label of the yarn.  Our local wal-mart did not carry such an item so I found this at Hobby Lobby and it truly is the only yarn they had with "sock" on the label.  I do like the colors too, just not what I had in mind.

I am a beginner sort of.  I learned about 11 years ago on my Union 36 loom from a little lady that was about 4'8" if even that and she was 80 years old.  Super gal.  She used to come in to my gift shop and weave rag rugs for me (that's all she ever did weave).  I would just let her be, and after awhile I'd mosy through and check on her.  She'd be whistling away her cares, while standing (she was too short to sit and weave) and I'd say "Hi Edna", and it would scare the daylights out of her.  She passed away about 9 years ago.  Since that time, I've acquired another  Union 36 loom, my brother-in-law found it at  an auction and paid $10 for it.  What a steal.  I also  purchased a Schacht  baby wolf 4 harness loom last year off E-bay for $400.   I still do not know how to properly use it.  I would like to buy a sectional warp beam for it to make that part easier as that is what I am used to.  Maybe then, I will learn how to use the extra 2 harnesses and all those treadles.

How is the weather in Denmark?  We're finally getting to 50 degrees here, and the sun is gorgeous.

 This was made because of a eNewsletter I receive from Handwoven Weaving Weekly.  I am just learning my 4 harness loom so it is a plain weave.  It turned out pretty good though and out of the piece of fabric I made out of "sock" yarn, I made a checkbook cover that is lined and also a coozie for my large Kleen Kanteen water bottle.  The only thing I would have done differently on the coozie is just make it go around the sides as it does not sit level.  But it is pretty cool to make the fabric you're going to make something else from.
