I am a new weaver so I am not well educated in weaving yarns yet, but I found some yarn at my local shop made by Schoppel. It is the edition 6 and I just warped my Ashford knitters loom to make a scarf. So far, it is the most "usable" yarn I have encountered. It does not shed and feels great in my hands. It's a dream to work with. The manufacturer claims that it is a lace weight, but I have it warped in a 12 dent reed as if it was a fingering weight and the result seems very nice. The only "problem" I have had so far is that since it packs so easily, I have to be careful to beat very gently or I end up with a total weft faced product. Maybe all of you more experienced weavers are familiar with this yarn, but a search of the forum produced only one posting about Schoppel, so I thought I would share my opinion of it.
