I purchased a 16 shaft  Weavebird loom in September and still can't get it working! I've tried using Weavemaker, bought new cables, purchased drivers and have now got ProWeave but all to no avail. The loom is all threaded up but the software does not seem to be talking to it. Any advaice would be most welcome.

Hi - are you using a pc or mac?  There are multiple reasons, is it a newer computer/notebook with USB or an older serial connection?  Sometimes it is a simple configuration issue with the ports.  Did you contact the seller or LeClerc for assistance?

It took me some monkeying around when I was setting up my AVL with a new notebook - check the "ports" settings in the computer and also the port settings for the software.  Some software has a connection troubleshoot feature to help guide you.  

Are the solenoids firing when you turn on the Weaverbird?  I personally have not used one so maybe someone else can jump in and be more specific.  Hang in there!

If you purchased a new loom, keep bothering the supplier or Leclerc until you get a solution. Perhaps it is the computer's operating system. I recently switched my system from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and found that the computer would no longer talk to my Weavebird loom driver. It did not recognise the serial ports that had functioned perfectly before. Fortunately, I had the software on a laptop as well, so I went back to using that computer to drive the loom. I have not been onto Leclerc about this problem yet, but I recommend that you send them an email about your problem.

Thanks for your advice Dawn. I'm using a pc with USB connection and have checked the ports - all seems straightforward. The solenoids on the loom appear to be functioning fine during a 'self test'. I'm hoping to get some help from Pro Weave next week. It's driving me nuts seeing the loom all threaded and ready but held up by the modern technology! Thanks for your encouragement to hang in there!

Were you able to resolve your problems?  I had issues with my Weavebird v 2 and the Fiberworks software at first; took awhile to get up and running.
