I would like to weave some kitchen towels on my Harp. I have a 12- and a 10- dent reed, and I notice that most towels seem to be done with 6/2 or 8/2 cotton and anywhere from maybe 18 to 25 or more threads per inch. I am wondering of I could use the 8/2 cotton doubled and use the 12 dent reed. Would that work and would it look like basket weave? Any ideas?

I have used 8/2 cotton doubled for napkins. The only thing I will caution you on is to be careful if you choose to use the yarn doubled for weft. It's a little fidgety to keep it from separating. I used my spinning wheel to spin the yarns together and that helped some. My black and white napkins in my projects were done in a log cabin type pattern with doubled 8/2 cotton. I look forward to seeing your project whatever you decide to do. Please post photos in your project folder. Claudia, Weavolution co-founder and Manager
