Towels

The 18 yard warp yielded 19 towels. I was able to make a number of variations in the weaving of each towel. The white and brown stripes were both threaded in a point twill on 4 shafts. I mixed it up with each towel. White woven plain weave, brown in twill, both stripes twill, etc.

my intention was to make a stack of generous hand towels for the powder room of a rustic lodge in Wyoming.

I used 4 shafts for a basket weave selvege and 8 shafts for the contrasting stripes on a 16 shaft AVL Compudobby loom

the warp is 10/2 cotton.  For weft yarn I used more of the cotton and also some linen Singles from my linen stash
