So, I'm de-stashing, have been using my handspun. I have a merino-tencel blend that was dyed in watery blues/greens that I spun up a few years ago and left as singles. Now that I have it on the loom, I am having trouble deciding on a sett and what to use for weft. I threaded for rosepath, and have sett it at 12 epi, then 10 epi. It's too beautiful of a warp to completely cover, and I can't seem to find anything in my stash to use as weft that makes me happy.
I thought if I used a more open set and something that shrank differently, I"d get collapse. The only thing that collapsed so far was my idea.
I think that some light blue cottolin woven plain weave will make a serviceable, hopefully pretty scarf. Other option, now thaI am looking closely, would be black cotton or there might be some black 20/2 wool in the stash that might do it.
These singles sat around long enough that the energy settled, so they didn't wrap around each other when I threaded more than one in the same heddle and dent as I had hoped. In thinking about it know, I wonder if I had run it back through the wheel and added a bit more twist, since it was sort of uneven and rather loosely twisted might have made it more active again. Yes, I know sometimes you don't want all that movement and activity, but I did.
