What sort of projects are you currently working on?  I am still waiting for my friend to bring me the tapestry loom she offered to lend.

What kind of a tapestry loom?

Is any one working on a small format tapestry project or small scale tapestry? Would love to hear about it? or would love to hear your description of what you consider small format or small scale tapestry to be.I would really love to get a discussion going.

It's not a tapestry and I cheated, it was made on a rigid heddle loom.  I was giving a tour of Weavolution and wanted to demonstrate how to post a picture in comments and that was the only thing on my desktop.  My apologies.  I can delete it but was hoping some people might be encouraged to post what they are currently weaving and what tapestry loom they are using.

A friend has offered to lend me her Schacht tapestry loom and I am seriously considering it.  Any chance of you, Kathe, teaching a beginning weaving class on Cyber-Fiber?

Beginning weaving as in tapestry? yeh-that could be fun to.  If you are talking about other forms of weaving you should ask my business partner Pat Spark. Most people know her as an internationally known felter, writer, and innovator. What most people don't know is that she is an incrediable weaving teacher with degrees in Weaving and teaching weaving. She headed the Textile department at OSU and taught weaving for over 10 years there, She studied weaving in Sweden. She would really like a chance to teach weaving again-more often- especially on Cyber-fiber. I talked to her today after I read your messsage. Would I like to teach a beginning weaving class-no-unless it is a beginning tapestry class and then I would jump at the chance to do that and the private lesson/consultation thing. Sorry if I answered you in the wrong place. Delete if this is an inappropriate place.

I am thrilled to have an open discussion about this.  I will contact Pat tomorrow.  if you would like to teach beginning tapestry I believe there is lots of interest here.  People seem to be making their own looms often and it's worth a try.

Please email me some dates and a description of class.  Let me know if you want to get together online again.  I enjoyed that and would love to chat with you again soon.  Email is [email protected]

I am making several tapestry looms to be used for small projects as I start to learn how to do tapestry weaving. I have just taken a weaving class and learned a lot! I would LOVE some tips for beginners in tapestry. I am handspinning my own wool for learning and trying to decide on a design right now. thanks ahead of time for any advice. charline
