Is anyone interested in working with me on developing a Mentoring class that would meet every other week or maybe weekly to help students with their problems, questions, etc.  There is no prep necessary for this class and we can have several teachers listed with each one taking turns to be available if students sign up for assistance.

I am still in the brainstorming phase of this and would like to schedule for July or August to get started.

I'm in for preparing your warp, board, paddle, sectional problems, and beaming your warp, fixing a broken warp thread, understanding the path and mechanics of your loom - kinds of mentoring... Does this make sense for what you're looking for?

Also, you can put me down for the mechanics of the AVL loom with cloth storage and auto advance features - i remember i would have paid big bucks to have someone to walk me thru silly stuff.

I assume you're thinking that this isn't a class, just when someone gets stuck?

I think after August, I should be able to help with this as well. I can help with CounterMarche looms (thought is Joanne is here she's far more experienced than I am), rigid heddle, table weaving, table looms, tapestry, twills, and plain weave.

Cheers,

Hi Claudia,

I can do warping, dressing loom B-f & F-B, AVL compudobby & manual, drawloom, countermarch, various weave structures and loom maintenance.

I could help with dyeing, surface design but I really want to be teaching about weaving.  I work and teach on looms 2-8H.  Color design, and textile design are strong suites-- I do fashion fabrics (no rugs, tapestry), engineered designs and cloth to sew.  I do a lot of pick up and prefer patterns to images and am always concerned about the hand of the cloth that I make.  My interest in textiles of the Americas.
