Interesting, DJ! 
That T-shirt yarn tutorial is from 1988!  It seems like only in recent years have people been talking about really using recycled fabrics... Kind of the whole up-cycle, re-cycle, etc...  But, this shows that the author had been thinking about the concept for a while... and I haven't seen this much detail on using t-shirt fabric as actual "yarn"!
