Joanne, and all,

Do you know what kind of wood the Glimakra Standard is made from?  DH and I have been trying to guess.

The  Glimakra Standard, as most Swedish looms, is made from "Nordic Pine" - these are pines that grow near the Arctic Circle and have very small growth rings. This makes it nearly a hardwood when carefully selected. over time, exposed to light, this wood develops a wonderful honey color deepening to red in some areas.

Thank you, Sara.  It really is beautiful wood.  It is great to have a nice big loom to show off larger pieces of wood. I wonder if the leash sticks are the same wood.  Mine have a redish color to them, and they are very nice and smooth.
